Lead Exhibition

The venue map was the point of this site. I made it work as a plain image first, then layered the interaction on top.

Lead Exhibition runs GF27. Exhibitors want to know where their stand is, visitors want to know where to go, and both ask the organiser by phone unless the website answers first.

What was built. An exhibition site with a venue map at its centre. The map is an SVG of the floor plan with every stand addressable, so a visitor can find an exhibitor by name and see the stand highlighted, and an exhibitor can link straight to their own position. Around the map: the exhibition's dates, opening hours, registration and exhibitor information.

Stack. Next.js as a static export, the map drawn as inline SVG so it renders without JavaScript and scales to any screen.

What was hard. A floor plan that stays readable on a phone. Stand numbers are legible at every size, the map pans and zooms by touch, and with JavaScript off it still shows the full plan with a plain list of stands beneath it.
